There are so many free or inexpensive ways to educate ourselves at home these days. Udemy, YouTube, Amazon, and Libby are just a few.
As for myself, I have several classes in queue on Udemy. The classes are available any time I'm ready to take them, and they never go away. I always wait until the classes that I'm interested in are on sale, because many classes can be very pricey, but will be under $20 when they're on sale. FYI, classes go on sale at least once a month, so you shouldn't have to wait long. Occasionally, some of the teachers will put their classes on sale themselves if Udemy isn't offering a sale at the time. So, save all the classes you like so you can get emails letting you know when they are on sale. You can usually buy several classes for the price of one when they're on sale! Win-win.
I also watch YouTube videos or research something online daily. I'm so glad I live in this age of technology.
I like to read books too, but I have only enough storage for a few physical books. So, digital books are a great alternative. Libby, for example, has connections with libraries throughout the United States. And if you have a library card, you can have access to your library's current digital books to study - or to read for pleasure. I just want to make you aware that libraries have only so many digital books available, so some books may not be available in digital format. Or if one is in high demand, it (or all copies of it) may be checked out. If this is the case, you can place yourself on a waiting list to be notified when it has been returned. Yes, you read correctly; like physical books that you check out, digital books must also be returned by a specific date. You can, however, request a return delay if no one else is waiting to check out the book. And one more heads up. I'm not sure if this is my library's requirement or if this is Libby's requirement, but you may have to re-establish your library card once a year. It's just a matter of calling your library to get them to reconnect your card to Libby. And ask what your PIN is while you have them on the phone.
And then there's always Amazon's Kindle and audio books. If you aren't aware, Amazon offers a free Kindle reading app for phones and computers if you don't have a Kindle to read their digital books with. The phone apps are in the app store or you can scan a QR code after clicking on the free app offer that I've highlighted in yellow at the bottom of the image below. You can download the app to your computer by clicking on "Read with our free app".

With Kindle book price selected, you will see the free reading app,
which I have highlighted, below that.
